Cafe Reporter spoke with three regular — and satisfied — visitors to Hariri Chickens.
Alex: “I’ve known Moe and the family for about 27 years, since Lakemba. The one reason why I go to Hariri Chickens since Lakemba, and it’s the one word that sums them up, is consistency. I’ve never seen presentation like this in a chicken shop — ever! I travel around Sydney a lot, and can only speak for Sydney, but the food is second to none. You won’t taste chicken like this anywhere! You’re getting homecooked food in a shop presented to you like you’re having it at home, and with such taste. I can’t go on enough about how consistent the food is across the shops, from Kogarah to Lakemba to Panania — no matter where you are, it’s going to be the same.”
Will: “I like the barbecue chicken here; I get the quarter chicken. I go to the gym so I need to hit my protein goals. When I come here it’s always really, really nice; I’m never dissatisfied. It’s always juicy not dry like a lot of other places, so I’m always happy to come here most days, and it makes hitting my protein goals a lot easier. I’ve dabbled in a few other things when I’m trying to be a bit cheeky, but even if I eat something that doesn’t fit within the macro [diet], I don’t regret it. It’s always delicious!”
Sergei: “Today for lunch I had the chicken ribs and the quarter chicken salad. I’m a creature of habit; it’s what I always get here. Every time. If Will offered to buy me a hamburger, I’d prefer the ribs. But I’d eat the burger if it had to be that way.”
And Hariri Chickens proprietor Moe’s response to these positive words? “You don’t really know the impact you have on someone until someone comes out and tells you, like Alex here; you don’t know the impact you have on people. Even though you go into hospitality with the mission to do so, you don’t really know how effective you are until you get that response.”
