For Lara, becoming a lawyer has been a lifelong ambition which was realised when she completed her law degree at the University of Technology Sydney. “For me, I gain satisfaction from helping clients and making a difference in people’s lives”.

Vanessa’s path was shaped more by gradual discovery than by childhood ambition. “I didn’t have a ‘lightbulb moment’ where I decided I wanted to be a lawyer. I just found myself being naturally analytical and interested in debating with family and friends in certain topics. For me, when someone comes to me with a legal problem, I view it as a puzzle that I enjoy solving”.

Both Lara and Vanessa find fulfilment in the diverse challenges of legal practice and the opportunity for continuous learning, especially under the mentorship of Esmae and Spiros. “I love learning from the experiences of others to add to my wisdom” says Lara. “Every client brings something new. There’s a sense of excitement in not knowing what’s coming next.”

Vanessa appreciates the breadth of work the firm undertakes. “One of the things I love about Mihalatos & Associates is that we’re not confined to a single area of law, we do a bit of everything. There’s nothing we won’t try our hand at”.
