” I’ve been in hospitality for about 10 years, as a duty manager mainly, now in a group office role for Endeavour hotels (owner of Coopers Hotel), which is an amazing company to work for. You definitely get a social kick whilst coming into work; it’s always nice to be around people. Our rooftop bar was renovated a couple of years ago; during one of the [covid] lockdowns we did one of the first renovations inside and then about a year ago we did a facelift out here. I’d say the Coopers is about affordability done well. Food-wise we have pub classics: your schnitties, your parmies, your burgers; everything from your starters down to your steaks. You can always ask for something; our service is always friendly. We’ve got about 20 varieties of beer on tap. We have all your standards on tap all the time, your VBs, your Carltons etc, and then we have a turnover of your more craft beers. The Young Henrys Newtowner is obviously a popular one.”
