“I have the great privilege of being here at the Food and Hospitality Week with six of Australia’s most innovative food and agri-businesses. The businesses here are all part of, or involved with, the Federal Government’s Industry Growth Program. A few of them have been through an accelerated program as well; a 10-week program where we are supporting these businesses with connections, scaling up, commercialisation, marketing — which is free for them to participate in. And we bring businesses like this to trade shows like this. A couple of these businesses are exhibiting at a large trade show for the first time and making connections, but what’s really filling my heart is they’re actually learning from each other, as well and supporting each other with insights, new contacts etc. I’m really in a very fortunate position to be working with businesses nationally; the program itself is based around Australia. And we’ve been attending quite a few shows, whether they be food and beverage shows, agriculture shows — because we are working with business across the whole food value chain — so really it is about supporting innovative Australian business.”
