Fatima, Crown Bakery, Bexley

“It’s a family business and I’m the youngest sibling in the family. It’s good helping out my parents, I’ve been enjoying it a lot. I also like working with the community. I’m on the customer service side; my mum and everyone is up in the kitchen. Our manoushe menu is like traditional food in Lebanon. We do a variety of those; I like the meat and cheese one or just the plain za’atar. You can also get it in a wrap: cucumbers, tomato, labneh, olives, mince and yoghurt. We also do gourmet pizzas: chicken, supreme, Hawaiian. I love the peri peri chicken pizza. My mum marinates the chicken, she makes the peri peri sauce — she makes everything! I help out with the prep; I love helping my parents out. I’ve been working here a few years. We also do catering for weddings, parties — any occasion we can cater. We can also cook your meat for you — mince or a lamb — if you bring it in for us. We’re closed Mondays, while Tuesday to Saturday we’re open 6am to 4pm, and on Sundays it’s 7am to 2pm.”
