A qualified painter and decorator, Christopher Maamari started his own business — Maamari Painting Services — a year ago. “I’ve always wanted to build something of my own and I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands, and there’s nothing better than seeing a property completely transformed when the job is finished,” he says.
“For me, painting isn’t just about putting colour on a wall. The biggest part of the job is the preparation; if the prep isn’t done properly, the finish won’t last. That’s why I take the time to patch, sand, treat mould, protect the client’s property and make sure everything is done to a high standard before I even open a tin of paint.”
“Every job is different, every house is different, every driveway is different. I like to provide customers with the information and knowledge that I have through trusted suppliers of the products I’m using to ensure I can warranty their job for longevity.” To that end, Christopher factors in the location and environs of the property. “With anything like that — near salt water, colder temperatures, warmer temperatures — the product that I will use is the product that can handle that environment. You have to do that to make sure the job is long lasting and there are no issues later on.”
“I’m proud of the reputation I’ve been building. Most of my work comes from happy clients, repeat customers, and referrals — and that’s something I never take for granted. I treat every job as if it were my own home, because I know people are trusting me with one of their biggest investments,” he says.
“My goal, honestly, isn’t to be the biggest painting company in Sydney. My goal is to be one of the most trusted and reliable companies. When people hear the name Maamari Painting Services, I want them to think of quality workmanship and me as honest, reliable and someone who genuinely cares about doing the job right. The main thing for me is: if the customer is happy, I’m happy. The customer’s happiness comes first.”
